The Lake Erie and Detroit River Railroad|
Between 1894 and 1903 the operating rights to the London and Port Stanley Railway tracks were leased by the Lake Erie and Detroit River Railway. In 1899, the passenger department of that company produced a tourist brochure highlighting the virtues of Port Stanley as a summer destination. This short Heritage Port video is based on that brochure.
The photographs from the brochure will take you back in time to 1899, and the narration will give you an insight into railroad development in Southwestern Ontario in the 1880s.
